Restaurants

Here are just a few of our favourite restaurants:

Happys – a lovely welcome and about halfway up restaurant hill (book as it gets busy)
Marisqueira – found at the top of the hill and again, very friendly
Casa De Pasto Escondidinho – they do great 10/11 Euro 2 and 3 course meal offers. We’d advise getting a taxi as it’s an hour’s solid walking, but would highly recommend it.
A Paleta – this one’s in Lagoa and it’s very traditional and friendly.
Algarve 2000 Sports Bar (George’s place) – is great for lunch as it’s 5 minute’s walk away and they’re lovely.
Casa De Pasto O Calvario – it’s in Estombar and gets very busy on Saturday when they have Portugguese music so you need to book.
Casa da Boa Cozinha Indiana – we only just discovered this restaurant and it’s delicious.

There’s a full guide with more restuarants and contact numbers in the apartment Welcome Pack

easy Jet  0330 365 5000

Norwegian Airlines 0330 828 0854

Getting out and about

You can catch the bus at the bottom of the road on the right, across the road at the EVA bus stop. Be at the stop on time as they are very prompt! You can catch a bus yo Lagoa (where the main bus station is) and it on this route that the bus goes by the local, big Intermarche.

Taxis are available from the bottom of restaurnt hill, Carvoerio. It should only cost you 5 or 6 Euros to get back to the apartment from there. It can cost extra after 10pm though.

As we’ve mentioned, there are some great walks nearby by and everything really is in walking distance.

Local health contacts

The nearest chemist is found at Carvoerio square by the beach. Open from 9am to 7pm, closed for lunch from 1pm – 2pm. It’s usually open on Saturday and Sunday and they’re really helpful and speak English.
